​With a Win at The Oaks Open, 2018 Utah Section PGA Player of the Year and Section Champion Zach Johnson earns the Zions Bank Player of the Week!

Southern Utah University junior Jake Vincent made Thunderbird Men’s Golf history in April becoming the first T-Bird to claim an individual championship in the Big Sky Conference and the fourth to advance to NCAA Regionals. Vincent shot a (-9) 207 to claim medalist honors at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Nevada.

This is his second career victory, as he won SUU’s Pat Hicks-Pizza Hut Thunderbird Invitational earlier this season. He is also the first Thunderbird to claim an automatic berth to NCAA Regionals as an outright conference champion.

“We’re really proud of the way Jake performed out here (at the Conference Championship),” SUU Head Coach Richard Church said. “He didn’t let the pressure get to him and he was able to stay ahead of the field.”
